Tired of the way your smile looks?

Our teeth are one of the most noticeable, visible parts of our faces. Whether you like it or not, they are one of the first things that people notice when you speak to them, and the way they look can have a massive impact on how you are perceived and treated by those around you. Those who have pearly white, gleaming teeth are often given preferential treatment rather than those whose teeth are crooked, missing or yellow. This may not seem fair, but it is a fundamental part of human nature regardless. Today there are countless home remedies and cosmetic treatments which are designed to improve the way your smile looks, however few of them are permanent. If you are tired of being treated differently because of the way your teeth look, and want to make a permanent change – then perhaps veneers in Liverpool are the best option in order to take control of your smile, and in turn, your life.

What are veneers?

Veneer treatment is the name given to the use of wafer thin porcelain shells which are attached to the enamel of a patient’s teeth, to give them a more together and cohesive look. They are the cosmetic dental procedure which is favoured by the majority of television and film actors, as well as media personalities due to their instantly transformative effects and their permanent nature. Each veneer is custom built to fit around each patient’s tooth, and – if a patient opts for an entire set of veneers – it gives them the potential to entirely reshape their teeth and permanently address a number of problems they may have, such as staining, chips or breaks, gaps between their teeth or minor misalignment. As such, veneers allow patients to completely alter the way their smile looks on a permanent basis.

How do they work?

Dental check up

If you feel that your smile could benefit from veneer treatment, then the initial step would involve visiting your trusted cosmetic dental specialist for a preliminary examination of your dental health. This assessment would count as a consultation period which would allow you to further discuss with your dentist what it is about your smile you feel would most benefit from veneers and answer any questions that you may have about the procedure. Following this, an impression would be taken of your tooth shape – usually through a digital scanner, but sometimes using a physical mould. This imprint would then be sent by your cosmetic dentist to a veneer technician who would begin creating your unique set of porcelain veneers. This process can often take around two weeks, given the attention to detail which is required for the procedure. Once your veneers have been created and received by your cosmetic dentist, the installation process would begin. This starts with a small amount of the enamel of your teeth being filed away, whilst you are under local anaesthetic. Then your teeth are etched slightly, to allow for the bonding material to stick firmly to them. Once the bonding material is placed onto your teeth, each veneer is individually attached, until your smile is completely reconfigured by veneers and you can begin enjoying all the benefits that a new set of perfect teeth can bring to you.
